The campus of the University of Pannonia in Nagykanizsa is the organic part of PEN, one of the most dynamically devel - oping universities of the country. Nowadays the students can choose from three bachelor’s and two master’s majors. At the same time three higher-level vocational trainings and three postgraduate trainings are also available on our campus. Besides teaching our colleagues pay special attention to the market sphere and thanks to this we cooperate in a number of research areas with the local companies and organisations.

The campus of the University of Pannonia in Nagykanizsa is the organic part of PEN, one of the most dynamically devel - oping universities of the country. Nowadays the students can choose from three bachelor’s and two master’s majors. At the same time three higher-level vocational trainings and three postgraduate trainings are also available on our campus. Besides teaching our colleagues pay special attention to the market sphere and thanks to this we cooperate in a number of research areas with the local companies and organisations.
In an exemplary cooperation the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Pannonia, the Hidrofilt Ltd. and the municipality jointly established the Soós Ernő Water Technology Research Centre. In this organisation three factors have to be present on one place: education, research and innovation in a way that these three areas strengthen each other. For this purpose, as the first step the University of Pannonia (Faculty of Engineering and the Campus of Nagykanizsa) cooperated with the Hidrofilt Ltd. and launched the major for professional engineers specialised in water and sewage management systems in Nagykanizsa, which is of national importance and unique. As the next step the town was involved and the three partners (the manufacturing company, the university and Nagykanizsa) established the research centre with the purpose to carry out research at international level in the areas of water purification and treatment (e.g. the areas of water treatment of power plants and cooling towers, treating water for gardening and irrigation, desalination of sea water, providing water for pharmaceutical and infusion solution technologies as well as the related control processes and metrology) and to make Nagykanizsa the Hungarian and international centre of these diverse and very important topics.
DUAL TRAINING
In its training structure Nagykanizsa has always adapted to the transformation of the corporate environment and the actual trends on the labour market. The consequence of this is the dual training that responds to the more and more pressing challenges of the transformed corporate culture.
